Does this ISP cut off after a certain amount of hours or does it stay on for a longer time?

Many Internet companies claim to have no time limits on their service.  We intentionally avoid using that word since we believe it is abused in our industry and can be misleading. The Internet industry recognizes a difference between UNLIMITED and DEDICATED access. The problem is that the consumer doesn't understand the difference. They expect unlimited to mean no time limits, but that is what DEDICATED access is. UNLIMITED typically refers to any account that has a usage allowance of 150 hours per month or more. Experience shows that less 1% than of Internet users will exceed that.

Copper.Net allows overall usage up to 200 hours per calendar month, which is an average of over 6.5 hours per day. This is far beyond what is used by the average consumer. If a user reaches the 200-hour limit, their account will be temporarily disabled until the first of the next month. We hope our honesty is appealing and our plan will work for you.

Additionally, if you should forget to disconnect your session, Copper.net will drop the connection after 4 hours.  This avoids your phone line being tied up.  If there is active data flow, like a download, you should remain connected.
